Biömik® Information
Measurement and Verification
It can be a very expensive and complex endeavor to study the performance and energy-saving effects of a specific improvement to a large mechanical system.
We perform measurement and verification both in-house and with third-party companies using unique platforms. From the beginning, we understood that demonstrating the value of our services is crucial to our success. While pursuing sound engineering validation, it became clear that some customers also needed this service and the insights it provided.
The cost of complex engineering studies can be overwhelming, so we have created an IoT-enabled BTU module. This device will measure and transmit the BTU output of an individual AHU based on a kilowatt-hour input and an optional chilled-water input for the coil. This will offer a comprehensive understanding of the AHU psychometric profile and demonstrate improvements in coil or unit efficiency.
Larger systems need a chiller-based approach that prioritizes the chilled water efficiency across the whole cooling loop. We collaborate with a few companies that use proprietary platforms acting as third parties on large projects.

West Ward DX Case
Biömik restored system performance at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in New Jersey, avoiding a $500,000 capital replacement expense and related costs.

Schoffield Army Base - Hawaii
Biömik was contracted to clean a 50-ton AHU at the army barracks. A third-party test-and-balance company was engaged to provide a full air and chilled water analysis of the project.
